Aloha Bobcat Ohana,
What an exciting first week of school it has been at Baldwin Park Elementary! From the moment our doors opened, our BPE Ohana welcomed students with warm smiles, joyful energy, and Hawaiian leis to help make the first day feel extra special. We know the first day of school is filled with a mix of excitement and nerves, and it was heartwarming to see our students settle in, reconnect with friends, and begin building new memories together. It was also great to see many friendly faces at our Boo-Hoo breakfast. These are the moments we will recall and cherish for years to come.
As with any good family, we also had to pull together when we experienced some challenges with our AC on the very first day. Our staff, district partners, and BPE community worked together quickly and thoughtfully to ensure our students and staff remained safe and comfortable. We are so grateful for everyone's patience, flexibility, and teamwork as we navigated the week together.
Now that students and staff have settled in, it is test time! Our PM 1 assessments are coming up, and we appreciate your support in helping our students put their best foot forward. Please remind your child to get a good night’s sleep before testing days and arrive at school on time. A restful night and a calm, punctual start to the day can make a big difference in a student’s ability to focus and do their best. As a friendly reminder, our school will be a closed campus during testing days to help us provide the most focused and supportive testing environment possible for all students.
We are off to a wonderful start for an amazing schoolyear. I can't wait to see our entire BPE Ohana come together for our school Pep Rally on Friday, August 21, 2026. Let's fill the school with Bobcat pride, energy, and spirit!
Go Bobcats!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Galvin-Prepetit
